THINK SPRING!
Marshmallow is a herbaceous perennial with green, velvety soft leaves and stems. It has pinkish-white flowers that form clusters and the plant can grow 2-5 feet tall. It usually is found growing in the wild, near salt marshes, by the sea, along riverbanks and any other equally damp area- hence its common name Marshmallow.
Arab, Greek and Roman cultures have used marshmallow continuously for over 2,000 years. The Romans considered mallow as a delicacy. And it was also reported that historically ancient Egyptians also ate mallow. Traditionally Marshmallow is known to help with bronchitis, sore throats, and dry coughs. It is also beneficial for the digestive system helping IBS, Chron's and Colitis as well as stomach ulcers. Externally Marshmallow is great as a topical for inflamed skin
*Precautions: Recommended you speak with a practitioner if on certain medications. Marshmallow may slow the absorption of any orally administered medications.
