THINK SPRING!
Tarragon is a perennial herb that is in the Asteraceae family. It has long, thin spiky leaves on wire-like stems that tend to grow every which way but upwards. Its Latin name dracunculus means "Little Dragon", and is derived from the medieval belief that the shape of a plant reflected its uses. Since its roots appeared to look serpent-like medieval herbalists regarded tarragon as a treatment for snakebites.
This herb is known to contain many vitamins and minerals such as iodine, potassium, and vitamins A and C. It has been known to treat gastrointestinal disorders and is able to stimulate the appetite. It is also beneficial to the cardiovascular system. Tarragon can also be helpful for women who experience suppressed menstruation.
We like to use dried Tarragon Leaves in oil infusions for cooking, and also by itself for adding flavor and dimension to different meals and cuisines. It can also be added into tea blends for all around health!
