THINK SPRING!
Wormwood is an herbaceous perennial and member of the Asteraceae family that is native to temperate climates in Europe, Asia and Northern Africa. It has tall branch-like stems with deeply segmented silver-green leaves. It can be found growing in the wild amongst disturbed, acid uncultivated soils. Artemisia absinthium is one of the approximately 180 species in the genus Artemisia.
Historically, Wormwood was implemented in traditional European herbalism to support the digestive system. Its uses date back to ancient Greece, where it was utilized for intestinal parasites and also used just as a general wellness tonic. This herb is also most popularly known as an ingredient in absinthe, the famous alcoholic spirit that is noted for its strong hallucinatory effects.
Today, Wormwood is still used as an antiparasitic herb, that can help expel tapeworms as well as other parasites. It can also be used to help stimulate digestion and increase appetite.
Precautions: Should not be used if you are pregnant or nursing. Should only be used for short periods of time- no longer than 4-5 weeks*
