THINK SPRING!
Horehound is a flowering herbaceous perennial with green and white small flowers. It is a member of the mint family and native to Asia and Europe, although now naturalized in North America. Egyptian priests referred to horehound as the "Seed of Horus", which is speculated where it's name has come from.
Traditionally Horehound was used to make cough syrups. It also is said to help increase secretion of mucus, making it thinner, and breaking up congestion. Horehound also is said to help remedy fitful coughs, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. I can also potentially stimulate digestion.
** If pregnant use with caution
We like to use dried Horehound in tea blends or infused in honey for sore throats and coughs.
All of our dried herbs are locally grown in Jamesport, NY at our certified organic farm. We start each herb from seed or root cutting on farm, hand tend it until peak potency, then mindfully harvest. Next, each herb is small batch dried, processed, and bagged for sale.
