THINK SPRING!
Hyssop is an evergreen bushy perennial herb, that is a member of the mint family. It is native to southern Europe and can grow 1-2 feet tall, has square stems with linear leaves; the flowers are clustered in whorls that have 6-15 blooms.
Hyssop has a long history in ancient European folklore- it was often hung in homes for protection. It was also used for millennia as a holy herb for consecrating holy items and places. This herb is considered a "cure-all" for respiratory ailments. It is said that Hyssop can help to clear out phlegm from the lungs and helps restore breathing. Externally, hyssop is known to be used as an antiseptic to help heal cuts and wounds as well as insect bites.
**If pregnant use with caution
We like to use dried Hyssop in our tea blends for colds and flus. It is also a great addition to add to an antiseptic salve!
All of our dried herbs are locally grown in Jamesport, NY at our certified organic farm. We start each herb from seed or root cutting on farm, hand tend it until peak potency, then mindfully harvest. Next, each herb is small batch dried, processed, and bagged for sale.
